Bless the Lord, O My Soul

Worldly pleasures and thrills are shallow and will leave you empty. By contrast, godly pleasures are deep and will fill your soul. Godly pleasures include things like the love of family and friends, serving others in the name of Christ, and even meaningful and fulfilling work. One of the greatest of all godly pleasures is the praise of the living God. Sadly, many believers do it seldomly. For believers in Jesus Christ, praising God provides a double blessing. It fills the soul with delight and brings one into the presence of the Holy God like nothing else. “You make known to me the path of life; in your presence is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore” (Psalm 16:11). Take time to practice the praise of God. It glorifies Him, and it blesses you. Praise the Lord!
